There is much more to sound than just listening to music or complaining about noise. Even in a world dominated by visual technologies.

In this workshop, facilitated by researchers from the Creative Technologies Group at Sussex University, you will be able to interact with some innovative acoustic devices. You will be able to see sound, touch sound, and make things levitate using sound. You will experience innovative speakers and acoustic rainbows.

In collaboration with Metasonixx Ltd, you will discover advanced materials (aka “metamaterials”) that shape sound.

You will see panels for silent sleeps in hospitals and ventilation solutions that block noise but let air through.

In this workshop, we will show that the future described by many sci-fi  futurists is just a few steps away… and it will be underpinned by sound.
