Geoffrey Mead grew up in Brighton, later studying Geography as a mature student at the University of Sussex in 1980 – having, self-admittedly, been less than a success at Brighton & Hove Grammar! After a long, part-time career with the Sussex adult education team, he later an MA in Local and Regional History and gained a doctorate in Geography, studying Brighton’s interwar suburban housing growth.
Now retired after a lifelong career with the University of Sussex, Geoffrey is a part-time lead invigilator for the University’s exams department.
‘Keep calm and carry on!’
