Jack Maddalena was one of those kids who was always selling something. As a schoolboy, he’d trade popcorn, sweets and iPhone cases from his locker. It was probably the most useful thing he learned at school – by his own admission he was not academic and he had no intention of applying for university. He always knew he wanted to start a business.
Jack joined the NatWest Accelerator programme and was also runner-up in the Young Start-Up Talent programme. Through these schemes, he met mentors from different business backgrounds.
He took the skills he’d learned and set up immersive tech agency VRCraftworks in 2014, which in turn led to the foundation of Naurt in 2020. An impressive client list includes P&G, Tui, JD Sports, Three and Royal Caribbean Cruises.
Jack identified a pain point in the market – specifically with location tracking. Naurt strives to optimise customer’s location data through a plug-in-and-play toolkit for high-precision tracking.
Last year, Jack raised £500,000 in seed investment, a funding round that was oversubscribed by 145%.
