Dr Gillian Sandstrom is a Senior Lecturer in the Psychology of Kindness, and the Director of the Centre for Research on Kindness.
Her PhD research was inspired by the smile-and-wave relationship she developed with a woman who worked on a hot dog stand while at university in Canada.
